I’ve always thought that my Grandma Sterrett’s fudge was the best fudge ever. It’s sweet, but not so sweet you can only eat one piece. So rich and creamy with a slight peanut butter taste that breaks up the bold chocolate flavor. When we would go on vacation, we would always get fudge from the Sweet Shops downtown. Every time I would taste them, they were always disappointing! They had a bitter after taste to it and to be honest, they tasted fake. I’m sure my Grandma would want to share this recipe with you all!
Every Christmas season, my Grandma would make her fudge. It was the best treat that I can remember. It’s one of those things that makes the memories I have of my Grandma last a lifetime. It feels so special to be able to share her recipes with my kids and the same experiences that I had.
This year, we added Grandma’s fudge to our goody boxes that we shared with our neighbors and mail man. It seems, everyone who has tried her fudge says it’s the best fudge they have ever had as well.
It’s so fun to give, even if it’s just a little treat to show appreciation!
So Simple, Yet So Tasty
This recipe is very simple! Can’t wait for you to try it!
Grandma’s Fudge| The Best Fudge Ever
Ingredients
- 18 oz. milk chocolate chips (I have used dark chocolate as well)
- 2 pint jars marshmallow fluff
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 cups sugar
- 1 10 oz. can evaporated milk
- 18 oz. creamy peanut butter
Directions
- Place chocolate chips and marshmallow fluff in a large bowl as set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter and add sugar and evaporated milk and bring to a boil. Boil for 10 mins. (This will want to boil over, so keep a close eye on it and stir often)
- Pour hot milk mixture of chocolate chips and marshmallow fluff and beat till smooth.
- Add peanut butter and beat again till smooth
- Line 2 9×13″ pans with wax paper.
- Divide batter into the pans and refrigerate for at least 2 nights.
- When it’s time to cut the fudge, the wax paper will stick to the pan a little bit, so carefully lift the paper out of the pan and place on a cutting board.
- Using a pizza cutter, slice the fudge into small squares.
- Store in containers in the fridge for up to 3-4 weeks. (But it probably will be devoured before then)
- Share with your family and friends
Id love to hear what you think of this recipe. I’d also love to know about your favorite fudge recipes! Thanks for stopping by! Until next time….
