Do you have any Easter traditions in your family? Or maybe you have some things you’d like to start doing with your family around this time of year! Growing up, I remember getting Easter baskets filled with candy, chocolate bunnies and toys every year! It seemed like my Mom never missed a single year. And you know, that made an impression on me that I will always remember.
Another tradition we always did at Easter was color eggs. There’s something about coloring eggs that brings me back to my childhood. Honestly, this year is really the first year that I’ve decorated/colored eggs with my kids, and my oldest is 7. Oops, did I just admit that? Yes, she’s 7 and I’m finally getting brave enough to allow my kids to use dyes on my kitchen table! However, this year I decided to do a little decorating for myself and did it a little different! These fun little farmhouse styled Easter eggs are super easy and fun. Most of the supplies can come from the Dollar Tree store so you won’t break the bank!
This speckled egg is my favorite!
I also had an abundance of fresh eggs sitting on my counter that I needed to use up. And what better way to do that than to use them for decorations?
First, you will need the following supplies:
- Twine (Dollar Tree)

- Chalk paint (Dollar Tree)
- Paint brush (Dollar Tree)
- Paint marker-fine tip (Meijer/Walmart)
- Chalk marker (Dollar Tree)
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun (optional)
- Hard boiled eggs
You could also use:
- Stencils (mini size)
- Rub on stickers
- Ribbon
Here’s a few pictures of what I have done.
